The virus increases in a room in a similar way that CO2 increases when we talk. => CO2 is a good proxy to measure the virus.

The difference is that the virus is also slowly deactivated with time, while CO2 can stay in a room forever if there is no ventilation. We quantify the speed by which it is deactivated using the virus “half-life” (how long it takes until only half of it is left).

Half-life of COVID can be from 15’ to 3 hours in standard Indoor conditions. Half-life depends on:

Temperature (the higher the better)
Humidity (the higher the better)
